In this course we will journey through a sampling of American short stories selected specifically for the fact that they are short AND humorous. As we enjoy the selected stories, we will also learn about the authors and the literary devices they use. Homework per week: approximately 2 hours reading and worksheets. Family provides: Text (free) via Project Gutenberg https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/10947 Students can also purchase a hardcopy from multiple places or check it out from the library if they prefer reading from a book vs online. Notebook/folder to keep worksheets and handouts together (these may be referenced throughout the course) Tuition: $120/$87.60 for volunteers Supply Fee: $12
