Students will be introduced to different interior design principles, color theories, and some history of interior architecture and furnishings. They will hone in on their favorite design styles so that they can nurture their own sense of flair and creativity. Each week they will practice sketching out their spaces and learn how to organize their furnishings, choose wall and floor coverings while designing a space that fits a client’s needs. As their main project, they will design a space in the style of their choosing and will present their project to the class at the end of the semester. Whether your student is beginning to consciously think about their future career or just wants to learn a new skill set, interior design can be a fulfilling way to put artistic talent and creativity to good use.
