As students read one of the great forgotten gems of children’s literature, they will participate in hands-on activities related to the novel. Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH begins with a mother mouse’s perilous quest to save her son’s life. In her journey, she discovers a super-intelligent group of rats, who were created by a top-secret government project at the National Institute for Mental Health.
The odyssey of these rats is an exciting tale of escape and adaptation to the human world, culminating in a philosophical debate that pits the hidden risks of technological comfort against the hard-won benefits of self-sufficiency.
