Description:

Team Harmony: Designed for beginner cheer athletes

Recreational cheer is our program that offers an introduction to cheerleading. The recreational program will teach all components of the sport, in a more relaxed setting. Recreational cheer is great for anyone new to cheer and/or anyone who is not interested in travelling to and attending competitions. Each athlete will be automatically enrolled in our Cheer Badge Program, this program is aimed to set athletes up to achieve basic skill development for the sport. This program works athletes through the progressions of the sport and is a requirement for transitions to competitive teams. An end of the season showcase will take place for all recreational and competitive athletes to show their hard work and dedication this is called our Cheer Expo.

The location does have water taps but there is no water fountains, a water bottle should be brought to practice for hydration. Outside food should be avoided during practice times, but small snacks can be brought with athletes if needed.

Price

The price for our recreational season is a total of $720.00. If setting up monthly payments it will be $90/month due on the first of every month.

Practices

Recreational cheer will have 90 minute practices once every week. Please see below for specific dates and times based on ages.

Doors will be open 10-15 minutes prior to practices and closed when practice time starts. Athletes will have structure practices with appropriate water and bathroom breaks. At this time, due to small building restraints we do not have a viewing area for guardians to watch practices. We ask guardians drop off athletes at the door and can come in for pick up when gym doors have been re-opened to the public. Doors are closed during practice for safety purposes.

Practices include a combination of all cheerleading aspects; stunts, tumbling, dance, and jumps. Practices are structured based on age-appropriate skills and progressions.

Fundraiser Plans

We will be holding a fundraiser in the month of October. This fundraiser will be done across the entire program. The funds raised by your specific team will go towards your teams’ specific needs, whether it be tumbling equipment, training aids, or upgraded music etc. Each recreational team head coach will pick specific goals/needs for their team and communicate this with guardians/athletes.

Practice Wear/Uniforms

Athletes should come to practice in athletic wear. This can be, any form of t-shirt or tank top that is not overly baggy. Bottoms can be shorts, skirts, or an athletic type of pant. Midriffs should be covered at all times in our recreational program. Clean indoor –preferably white- running shoes should be worn.

We ask large sweaters and sweatpants to be removed prior to any stunting at practice, athletes are welcome to wear these items during warm ups, or other portions but to have proper athletic wear (as above) during stunting portions. Oversized and baggy clothing during stunting becomes a safety risk. No jewelry allowed on the mat (small studs earrings allowed). No food or chewing gum on the mat.

Uniform costs: Uniforms will be an additional cost and are not included in the tuition costs. Uniforms will be a T-shirt with custom design. Uniforms will be ordered in the month of November. Prior to ordering every athlete will be sized appropriately and this sizing will be confirmed with parents/guardians prior to purchase. The estimate of this uniform top is roughly $30.00-45.00.

Each athlete will receive a cheer bow as part of their uniform, this will be included in our tuition costs.

Bottoms: for our Cheer Expo, each athlete will be expected to wear some form of black athletic bottoms. This can be black yoga pants, black shorts, or a black skirt. In addition, white running shoes and white socks will be requested.
