Description:

When is it morally acceptable to believe a claim—and when might it be unethical? In this session, we’ll explore a famous answer first proposed in the 1700s and consider whether it still holds up in today’s world.

Instructor: Dr. McDermid is a philosopher with expertise in critical thinking, epistemology (the study of the nature of knowledge), and philosophy of science.  He has just moved to the island from Montclair State University in New Jersey, where he taught for 19 years.
