League Overview

The game of lacrosse is rapidly growing throughout the United States, and particularly in the southeast. Our YMCA is committed to providing opportunities for young athletes for every sport, and that is why we are now offering lacrosse. This league (flex6) will help provide an opportunity for youngsters who want to learn the game of lacrosse from the grassroots level.

 

Flex6 leagues are community-based programs that are designed to be cost efficient, and a fun version of lacrosse programming requiring minimal equipment, smaller fields, and fewer players than the traditional game. In terms of cost efficiency for participants: each participant will need only one piece of equipment to be purchased, that being a lacrosse stick. · Registration: April 7th – May 11th

· Age Cut Off Date: August 1st, 2025

· Cost: $55 Member, $85 Non-Member

· Age Divisions: 8 & UNDER and 11 & UNDER

 

Equipment that parents will need to purchase: Each participant will need to purchase a lacrosse stick. Allowable sticks to use: men’s, women’s, fiddle, or PE/soft-stick. Stick cost ranges from $25 - $150, *depending on the level of interest/experience for each individual player. Sticks can be purchased at:

Coaches Meetings

· 8 and UNDER – Monday May 19th at 6:00pm

· 11 and UNDER – Monday May 19th at 6:00pm

 

The coaches’ meetings only pertain to the head coaches. PLAYERS DO NOT NEED TO SHOW UP.

 

If you are willing to be the head coach for your child’s team, please indicate under the section label “Would you like to be the head coach of your child’s team?” on your registration form. In order to gain knowledge of the game, we will have local high school coaches and players assisting in both practices and games.

Required age: Under 9 years old as of 8/1/2025
