Program Description: Growing mushrooms can be intimidating, but there is no better companion to learn with than the Oyster Mushroom. Hardy, fast-growing, delicious and prolific, oyster mushrooms are aggressive decomposers of cellulose and excellent recyclers of paper, fabric and wastewood. Get ready for a big day of spawn shopping and preparation, different methods of pasteurization, inoculation practices, monitoring of colonization and methods to induce fruiting. About the Teacher: Conor Cash Is a truly unique mushroom educator and artist. His mushroom series is made up of 6 educational workshops ranging from foraging to growing mushrooms. At the end of his series, Conor is going to hold an art exhibit at CEED. Details Cost: $25 per person Ages: 12 and up Optional Oyster Mushrooms Take Home $15 (limited to 12 spots)
