Description:

THIS LEAGUE IS A PARTNER LEAGUE THAT WILL TAKE PLACE ON TUESDAY NIGHTS FROM MAY 20-JUNE 24 AT 6:00-7:15 P.M. REGISTRATION IS PER TEAM, PLEASE REGISTER ONCE.

This league will have a maximum of 12 teams, with the goal of a team being able to play against ALL the other 11 teams in the field within the 6-Week league length. Games will have traditional Side-out scoring, but will have a 25-minute time limit to have games end roughly at the same time, AND allow a team to play two different teams per week.

League Format:

  • Co-Ed Teams:  Teams must consist of 1 Male and 1 Female Player. If you need to sub a partner, the sub must be the same gender of the player that is out, or you will risk forfeiture for that week. In the spirit of fairness, no M/M or F/F teams will be allowed.
  • Game Duration: Game Duration: At the 25-Minute mark, whichever teams is ahead will win by default. If the game is tied at 25:00, Sudden Death will be implemented, and whichever team wins the SD Rally wins the game, regardless of who served.
  • Standard Pickleball Rules: Game to 11 Points, Win-By-Two, Traditional Side-Out scoring (You can only gain points on a serve). The 25-Minute time limit supercedes all rules, at which point Sudden Death will take place.
  • Rotating Schedule: Each week, a team will play against two different opposing teams. The 25-Minute time limit on games will allows this to happen. By the end of the 6th week, a team will have played all 11 othe teams in the league. Games can be rescheduled due to weather interference.

In side-out scoring pickleball, only the serving team can score points, and if they lose a rally, the serve goes to the opposing team, who then becomes the serving team.

Here's a breakdown of side-out scoring in pickleball:

  • Winning the Game: The first team to reach 11 points and win by a margin of 2 points wins the game.
  • Doubles Scoring: In doubles, the score is read as three numbers: the serving team's score, the opposing team's score, and the server number (1 or 2).
  • Scoring: A team only scores points when they are serving.
  • Side Out: If the serving team loses a rally, the serve goes to the opposing team (a "side out").
  • Serving Position: The first serve of a game always starts from the right side of the court.
    • Team seeding will be based on W/L records, with head-to-head being the deciding factor for teams with identical records. Seeding will determine your ranking for the Championship tournament.
