Step into the world of coding with LaunchPad: Introduction to Programming via VEX IQ. This camp is designed for students who are new to programming, offering a hands-on introduction to coding through the VEX IQ robotics platform. Students will learn the fundamentals of programming by writing simple code to control their robots, enabling them to perform a variety of tasks and respond to their environment.

Target Students:

This course is ideal for beginners with little to no programming experience, making it perfect for students interested in robotics and coding. It’s designed for curious, creative learners who enjoy hands-on activities and are eager to build a strong foundation in programming and problem-solving. Whether they are new to coding or looking to expand their skills, this course provides an accessible and engaging way to dive into the world of robotics.

Learning Outcome:

During this camp, students will learn fundamental programming concepts, such as sequences, loops, and conditions, and apply them to control VEX IQ robots. They will develop problem-solving skills, enhance teamwork through collaborative projects, and gain hands-on coding experience. This course will lay a strong foundation for future robotics and coding endeavors.

Daily Camp Schedule:

9 AM: Camper Drop Off & Sign In
9 AM-12 PM: Gifted Test Prep & Thinking Skills
12 PM-1 PM: Lunch & Supervised Recess
1 PM-3 PM: Mars Exploration with VEX GO
3 PM: Camper Pick-up & Sign Out
3 PM-5 PM: Extended Care (Optional)

Lunch Provision:

Students are encouraged to bring their lunch. A microwave is available for heating food. Blaze Robotics Academy will provide lunch for an additional fee of $50.00/week.

Cancellation Policy:

You may choose between two refund options: a 100% refund minus a 3% processing fee (plus any applicable taxes) if requested at least 30 days before the activity begins, or a 100% credit that can be applied to future programs, available until the activity starts. If your student cannot attend the program due to illness or an emergency, please contact our staff to discuss transferring to a different session or program. In the event that Blaze Robotics Academy cancels the program, you will receive a full refund of the fees paid.
