Ce cours est une excellente façon d'explorer le violon pour la première fois!  Les cours particuliers sont conçus pour développer vos compétences méthodiquement dans une atmosphère détendue, agréable et encourageante. A la fin du cours, les étudiants seront capables d'identifier les parties de l'instrument, de tenir correctement l'instrument et de jouer quelques morceaux d'introduction. 

Les étudiants doivent fournir leur propre violon. Ceux-ci peuvent être achetés ou loués par l'intermédiaire de The Sound Post moyennant un supplément. Tous les autres matériels de cours sont inclus dans le prix.

Jenna O'Connor enseigne le violon aux enfants et aux adultes depuis 2002. Elle est patiente, enthousiaste et possède une grande expérience de l'enseignement. Son objectif est de développer des apprenants autonomes avec une bonne technique de violon qui jouent avec aisance et une belle sonorité. Mme O'Connor fait participer les jeunes élèves par le biais de jeux et d'activités musicales.

Avant de s'installer à Ottawa, Mme O'Connor a enseigné le violon à l'Orpheus Academy of Music à Austin, au Texas, et à la Vancouver Academy of Music à Vancouver, en Colombie-Britannique. Elle est titulaire d'un baccalauréat en interprétation du violon de l'Université de Western Ontario (Canada), d'une maîtrise en arts de l'Université du Texas à Austin et d'une maîtrise en éducation musicale avec spécialisation en pédagogie Suzuki de l'Université du Wisconsin à Stevens Point. Mme O'Connor est un professeur de violon Suzuki entièrement certifié et s'engage à se perfectionner tout au long de sa vie professionnelle.

This class is a great way to explore the violin for the first time!  The private classes are designed to build your skills methodically in a relaxed, enjoyable, and encouraging atmosphere. By the end of the  course, students will be able to identify the parts of the instrument, how to properly hold the instrument, and be able to play some introductory pieces. 

Students must provide their own violin. These can be purchased or rented through The Sound Post for an additional fee. All other course materials are included in the fee.

Jenna O'Connor has been teaching violin lessons to children and adults since 2002. She is patient, enthusiastic and has a wealth of teaching experience. Her goal is to develop autonomous learners with good violin technique who play with ease and beautiful tone. Mrs. O'Connor engages young students through games and musical activities.

Prior to moving to Ottawa, Mrs. O'Connor taught violin at the Orpheus Academy of Music in Austin, TX, and at the Vancouver Academy of Music in Vancouver, BC. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Violin Performance from the University of Western Ontario, Canada, a Master of Arts degree from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Music degree in Music Education with an emphasis on Suzuki Pedagogy from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. Mrs. O'Connor is a fully certified Suzuki violin teacher and is committed to life-long professional development.
