The City of Chisholm hosts and organizes Youth Soccer League Games played primarily against Nashwauk/Keewatin. Game/scrimmage schedule will be determined when teams are selected in early March. U12 will have opportunity to play Grand Rapids in Grand Rapids.
U6 - Birthdate falls between Jan 1, 2019 - Dec 31, 2020 (apx. ages 4-6)
U8 - Birthdate falls between Jan 1, 2017 - Dec 31, 2018 (apx. ages 6-8)
U10 - Birthdate falls between Jan 1, 2015 - Dec 31, 2016 (apx. ages 8-10)
U12 - Birthdate falls between Jan 1, 2013 - Dec 31, 2014 (apx. ages 10-12)

All games are played in Chisholm or Keewatin. Games/scrimmages in Keewatin are on Mondays and Saturdays. Some games may be played in Grand Rapids.
All divisions have some games on Saturdays. Schedules may be altered due to scheduling conflicts, rain dates and make-up games. The start date of games is tentatively set to begin the week of Monday, May 5th - Saturday, May 10th, depending on field conditions.
The season is expected to go from April 21 (practices begins) to June 7, 2025
Practices
Coaches determine the times, days and location of practices in Chisholm. Coaches will contact parents/guardians and share information regarding when practices start, where they will take place, times, etc. Practices to start as soon as field conditions allow, and typically (at minimum) a week before the first game. Participants should bring all equipment with them to practices and games. Expect to download the TeamReach app on your mobile device for all team communication.
Equipment
Players must have the following to participate:
Players cannot wear jewelry in practices or games.
Team Coaches
Teams are coached by adult volunteers. Please contact the Chisholm Parks and Recreation office at 218-254-7909 if interested in coaching. All coaches are required to complete and pass a criminal background check and participate in coach trainings. (Registration fees returned if league does not recruit enough coaches.)
CONCUSSION TRAINING FOR PARENTS AND COACHES
Much emphasis has been placed on concussion awareness and training. This LINK is a short training session for concussion awareness. Coaches must view this training video before coaching and return completion certificate to the Parks & Rec. Department. It is strongly advised for all parents to take this 20-minute training.
Scholarships
The City of Chisholm offers scholarships for families who may need financial help to cover league fees. The City of Chisholm makes every effort to provide access to all city youth programming. Access scholarship guidelines and application on the city website.
**Please note: League fees are non-refundable after submitting. Sometimes children attend one practice and decide soccer is not for them. Parents/Guardians must understand the registration fee cannot be refunded, even if participant does not attend.
**Please note: Rates for the 2025 season is $45/player.
