Location: Lakeside Nature Center Area | 1033 S Lake Storey Rd, Galesburg, IL, 61401

Description:

November's topic: Owl Prowl
Owls are active at dusk, so we hope to spot an owl or two! We have been successful every year in attracting owls to our location! We will learn tips on how to spot these silent hunters. Please wear dark, non reflective clothing. A small flashlight can be brought for walking the trails, but note that it may disturb any owls. No flash photography allowed when we are on the prowl.

We will warm up after our adventure with some hot chocolate!

  • Recommended age not set, but there will be long periods of staying quiet and still while we wait and listen, so youth attending must hold those skills.
  • Program will be held outside as weather permits, possibly with a walk through the woods, so dress accordingly. In case of bad weather, program will be held mostly inside the Lakeside Nature Center building.
  • $5 per person or $15 per family (register each person individually and discount will be automatically applied)
  • Registration endsThursday, November 6
  • Pre-registration is required for each individual participant.

Join us for our Nature at Night evening nature program, typically held the last Friday of the month but dates and start times may vary depending on topic.

All ages are welcome to this family-friendly program, with parent supervision; remember that it will be dark and we will walk through the woods.
