Join the Lakeside Makos swim team under the expert coaching of Luke Foster and Allie Warren.

The Makos swim team is a summer swim program focused on skill development, character development, and fun!

Meet our 2025 Head Coaches!

• Luke Foster was an assistant coach at Soangataha for 3 years, holds 6 records for GHS and Crocs Swim Teams, and has been swimming for 12 years. Luke is majoring in Physical Education and Coaching at Monmouth College.
• Allie Warren has helped with Crocs Swim Team as well as helping 2 years with Lakeside Swim Team, holds 4 records for Crocs, and has been swimming for 10 years. Allie is majoring in Elementary Education at Monmouth College.

Summer swim team is a great introduction to the sport of competitive swimming or a way to keep in shape for the indoor season. Our team trains outside at Lakeside Water Park with 4 practice times available each week. Both evening and morning practices are available. Swimmers are suggested to attend 2+ practices a week to get the most out of the season, but there is no required number of attendances.

Entry into all local swim meets is included in the registration cost. The Peoria Sizzler will have additional charges. All meets are optional - parents will sign up swimmers for each meet they want to attend. Additional meets may be offered if the coaching staff can find them. 

All swimmers receive a Lakeside Water Park membership ($110 value). This counts towards the first person in a Lakeside membership (discounted family member water park memberships can be purchased here). Parents are welcome to sit on the pool deck during practice, but during non-swim-team functions they will need to pay admission (or have a membership).

Team T-Shirts & caps are included in the cost of registration. Team suits are optional & may be found at the link below.  

Parent & coaches meeting is May 14 at 6:00pm at Lake Storey Pavillion. 

Practice times: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesdays, Thursdays throughout the swim season at Lakeside Water Park 5ft pool starting 5/28/25. (No practice on meet days)  

• Monday: Beginner - 5:30-6:00PM / Intermediate - 6:-6:45PM / Advanced 6:45-8PM
• Tuesday: Advanced - 9-10:15AM / Intermediate - 10:15-11:00AM / Beginner - 11-11:30AM
• Wednesday:Beginner - 5:30-6:00PM / Intermediate - 6:-6:45PM / Advanced 6:45-8PM
• Thursday: Advanced - 9-10:15AM / Intermediate - 10:15-11:00AM / Beginner - 11-11:30AM

Levels:

• Beginners: Approx ages 5-8
• Intermediate: Approx ages 7-10
• Advanced: Approx ages 9-18

*practice times are based on skill levels, so if unsure, come to first practice and coaches will assess.

Swim Meets 2025: TBD, typically Tuesdays or Thursdays and Invites on Saturdays

Early Bird: 5/2/2025 ($135)
Late Registration: 5/19/2025 ($150)
Additional Swimmers from the same household: $15 discount for each additional swimmer

Season Dates: 5/28/25-6/30/25 *dependent on meet dates
