The Oregon City Adult Swim Lesson program is for adults who have zero-to-moderate prior swimming experience—or
may even have a fear of the water—but wish to learn the basics of swimming. Depending on the participant’s progression,
lessons may cover the following: feeling more comfortable in the water, understanding the flows and physics of the water,
floating on front and back, recovering to a standing position from a floating position, breathing while swimming, basic water
safety techniques and progressing from general swimming to learning freestyle and backstroke.
THE INSTRUCTOR: Adult swim lessons are taught by Macy Ray, who has been swimming for over 30 years. She coaches
swimming and surfing, believes swimming is an essential life skill, and loves to share the joy of swimming with others.
