Description:

(Ages 8-13) Ultimate is a non-contact, action-packed sport played with a flying disc (FrisbeeTM) where players pass the disc from one player to the next until someone catches it in the opponent’s end zone for a goal, worth one point. Players can’t run with the disc, and anytime the disc hits the ground, is intercepted, or goes out of bounds, it’s a turnover, and the defense takes over possession without any stoppage in play.

Redmond Parks & Recreation is partnering with Seattle Ultimate LLC for this 5-day camp designed to introduce kids to Ultimate while providing a legendary experience! Camp participants learn:

The basic rules and strategies of Ultimate Frisbee

• How to throw a backhand and forehand
• Proper catching techniques
• Basic offense and defense
• Spirit of the Game
• On-field and off-field leadership and teamwork skills

The camps are centered around Ultimate, but most importantly we prioritize getting kids moving and having FUN! Various activities include throwing accuracy games, partner catching, Randy Moss drills, footwork games, pulling contests, small scrimmages, and much more. These week-long camps are run in half-day sessions and are tailored for ages 8-13. No experience necessary; all levels welcome; participants grouped by age.

What to Bring:

• Appropriate athletic clothing
• Two snacks (for programs four hours or less)
• Water bottle (label with full name)
• Turf or athletic shoes
• Sunscreen (kids should apply before camp)

Refund and Transfer Policy:

Cancellations and transfer requests received at least 7 days prior to activity start date receive a full refund of activity fees, minus a 10% processing fee. Cancellations or transfers received less than 7 days prior to activity start date receive a 50% refund of activity fee, or 50% of activity fee transferred to a future program. There are no refunds for cancellations received less than 3 business days before start date. The credit card processing fee is nonrefundable.  Exceptions can be made for illness.
