Description:

(Ages 10-12) All things FARREL - McWHIRTER FARM will be the focus this camp week! Every day, participants will get to interact with and care for the farm animals, discover something new in the farm garden, and explore the forest that surrounds this magical place! Projects may vary each week, but campers will get to work on classic homesteading skills like cooking, natural dyes, sewing, garden cultivation and food preserving, and butter making. On Fridays, campers will saddle up and hit the forest trails for a horseback ride. Homemade, fresh, ice cream curned that day will await them in the garden afterwards!

Reminders:

- Participants should dress for the weather. Long pants are recommended for working around farm animals. Long pants and closed toed shoes are required for horseback riding on Fridays.

- Close-toed shoes are required. Boots with a heel are required for horseback riding. The lesson program has boots to borrow up to a women's size 9 and ASTM/SEI certified riding helmets.

- Campers should bring a water bottle, snack, lunch and apply and reapply their own sunscreen, daily.

This is a great opportunity for kids to learn how to be self-sufficient and good stewards to the natural world, all while having fun with their peers. A perfect week for animal loving kids that love to be outdoors!

Refund and Transfer Policy: 

Cancellations and transfer requests received at least 7 days prior to the activity start date receive a full refund of activity fees, minus a 10% processing fee. Cancellations or transfers received less than 7 days prior to activity start date receive a 50% refund of activity fee, or 50% of activity fee transferred to a future program. No refunds are issued for cancellations received less than 3 business days before the start date. The credit card processing fee is nonrefundable. Exceptions can be made for illness.
