(Ages 18+) Interested in giving back to the community? Have a passion for caring for animals? Enjoy working outdoors? Want to be a part of a fabulous team? If so, Farrel-McWhirter Farm's Adult Volunteer Program might be right for YOU!

Farrel-McWhirter Farm's Adult Volunteers will work alongside a farm staff member to help ensure all farm animals have food, water, and a clean living environment. Shifts are available weekdays from 9am to Noon. After volunteers have demonstrated their dedication and reliability in a feeding/chore role, additional opportunities such as animal grooming, program support, and animal docent may become available.

Minimum qualifications include:

• Outgoing and friendly personality
• Enjoy working as part of a team
• Enjoy working with the public (especially children and families)
• Dependable
• Willingness to learn
• Comfortable around animals
• Ability to commit to at least 3 shifts per month for 9 months

Preferred qualifications include:

• Prior experience working with livestock or equine
• Ability to commit to at least three shifts per month
• Ability to lift 50 pounds

Interested parties should register and then complete the FM Adult Volunteer Applicaton and email it to cjohnson@redmond.gov 

Qualified applicants will be moved forward to an in-person interview, and if selected for an interview they will also need to complete a background check.

Refund and Transfer Policy:

 

Cancellations and transfer requests received at least 7 days prior to activity start date receive a full refund of activity fees, minus a 10% processing fee. Cancellations or transfers received less than 7 days prior to activity start date receive a 50% refund of activity fee, or 50% of activity fee transferred to a future program. There are no refunds for cancellations received less than 3 business days before start date. The credit card processing fee is nonrefundable. Exceptions can be made for illness.
