Description:

(Ages 18+) Come and learn how to play and read rhythms through hand drumming. No experience required.

Learn classic rhythms found in rock, jazz, and world music. We will primarily use hand drums, but also incorporate stomping and other body percussion. We will also play along with some popular music.

Exploring rythms through hand drumming, clapping, and stomping has several benefits. One of the amazing things science has discovered about drumming is its ability to activate and stimulate the brain to improve clarity of thinking and memory. Drumming also provides:.

Hand drums and other percussion instruments are available for use during class, but you are welcome to bring your own if you have them, as well.

Cancellations and transfer requests received at least 7 days prior to the activity start date receive a full refund of activity fees, minus a 10% processing fee. Cancellations or transfers received less than 7 days prior to activity start date receive a 50% refund of activity fee, or 50% of activity fee transferred to a future program. No refunds are issued for cancellations received less than 3 business days before the start date. The credit card processing fee is nonrefundable. Exceptions can be made for illness.
