Description:

(Ages 13-18) Explore fantastic worlds, clash with dark monsters, spin lore and perform heroic acts playing one of the greatest role playing games of all time, Dungeons and Dragons! Beginners and seasoned players are welocome. No experience in game play is needed for this campaign.

This activity is run by a community volunteer.

Introduction to the Adventure:

This is a "learn to play" Dungeons and Dragons tutorial for those new to table top role-playing games (TTRPG) and for those interested in the new rules and updated classes. We will learn to play Dungeons and Dragons, but also learn how to interact with others as TTRPGs invite people from different backgrounds, cultures, and understandings to come together and have a good time.

Join me, your dungeon master, as we use the new 2024 rules to create characters and traverse the Forgotten Realms. We will all learn the new rules together as you create and play your character from hero to legend!

Here are a few things to know in order to prepare:
1. These sessions are meant for new players. Things may go very slowly for veteran players so please allow new players time to learn.

2a. Each player will create a level 1 character during the first session based on the 2024 rules. No exceptions and no homebrew. We will all go through the process together.

2b. Character creation can be accomplished using paper and pencil (DM provided) or using the DNDBeyond website (must have email to create account, DM navigated).

4. Bring physical or digital dice. There may be some physical dice to use provided by the Teen Center, but not guaranteed.

5. Bring your own miniatures for combat. If you don’t have one, the DM can provide a few for play during the session.

6. The dungeon master will have final say in all matters relating to the session.

Bring yourself, an open mind, and your imagination for a fun time.

Please be respectful of others and, in general, just be a good human being.
