Salida Arts & Culture Creative District Program presents River Art with Cate Wittemore. For FIBArk Week in Salida, we are excited to offer large scale, collaborative painting projects with set painter, designer, and teacher Cate Whittemore who has created backdrops and scenery for Broadway, film and television. Students will explore and consider the mighty Arkansas, it's flow and force and all the wildlife. Watercolor, tempera, giant canvases and broad-brush strokes will converge to create bold collaborative pieces for a river and wildlife- inspired art show. Cate enjoys teaching painting as an invitation to experience and develop one’s innate originality. She has offered painting courses on retreat in Skyros, Greece for ten consecutive summers.

Notes: To bring each day: Campers need to bring a cold lunch, two snacks, a water bottle, sunhat, apply sunscreen, and dress for painting and play each day. We get messy, so do not wear your best clothes!
