Young dancers will explore rhythmic & counting patterns commonly used in dance through:

• call and response
• repetition
• movement sequencing

Dancers will be familiarized with:

• the standard of counting from 1 - 8 in dance
• assigning specific movements to counts
• repeating movements 1, 2, or 4 times within a combination

Dancers will also be introduced to percussion by performing rhythmic patterns with:

• sticks
• tambourines
• their own bodies
  • clapping
  • stomping
  • marching

Required age: 3 - 4 years old on the day of the activity

Notes: Clothing Recommendations: Opt. for comfortable leotards, tights, and dance shorts that allow you to move quickly. Avoid baggy clothing that can get in the way or impede your movements. Footwear - choose shoes that provide flexibility and support. Perfect for children with little or no dance experience, this class strikes the ideal balance between structure and play so your child can learn ballet/Jazz basics while having a ball!
