Love poetry? Hate poetry? Never written a poem in your life? Written tons of poetry? -- then this class is for you! This class will be a broad introduction into the art and practice of poetry. We will explore various styles, genres, and subjects of poetry - together we will read and write a lot of poetry, there will be time for practice, feedback, and reading our work outloud to one another. Any skill level is welcome! Any comfort level around poetry is welcome!

Required age: 15 - 117 years old on the day of the activity

Notes: Please bring: Something to write with and something to write on - that is all you need. Having a journal of some sort that you can carry with you is always an important tool for any writer. We will read lots of poetry in class and we will also write lots of poems - so anything that is best for you to write on. If you are wanting to write your poems on a laptop that is totally fine - just also bring with you to class both paper and a writing utensil.
