Description:
Join us for a calming, hands-on workshop inspired by the Japanese art of kintsugi—the practice of mending broken pottery with gold to honor, rather than hide, its history. In this accessible “faux kintsugi” version, we’ll use simple, safe materials to recreate the look and spirit of this beautiful tradition. During the session, you’ll gently repair a pre-broken ceramic piece while exploring the philosophy behind kintsugi: embracing imperfection, resilience, and transformation. This is not just a craft workshop—it’s an invitation to slow down, reflect, and find meaning in the process of repair. No prior experience is needed. All Kintsugi materials are provided, and you’ll leave with your own restored piece as a reminder that what’s been broken can become something uniquely beautiful. Participants are encouraged to bring their own broken piece to restore. Come as you are, and take part in a creative practice that celebrates healing, connection, and the art of making whole again. Please note that participants must be 15 years of age or older. Check out our dedicated kids classes for other opportunities to learn!
