Description:

Come explore the possibilities of combining acrylic paint and hand printed paper in layers, colors, and textures to make striking abstract compositions with local artist Tracy McKee.

Students will choose a color theme and prepare a small canvas with paint. Next they’ll experiment with different objects to make printed paper in the same color way. The last major step will be applying pieces of hand-printed paper to the painted canvas. By the end of the class, students will have created their own unique mixed media art piece.

Prerequisites: Beginner -- Though any experience level is welcome, the workshop is designed for beginners and offers a low stress approach to experimenting with materials and finding your instinctual creativity.
