Location: Sewing/Quilting Studio | 611 Vermont 103 S, Ludlow, VT, 05149

Description:

This workshop is designed for intermediate to advanced quilters who would like to explore the process of designing and piecing intuitively.  To learn this process, a traditional Log Cabin block is used as a jumping off point. No pattern or perfect ¼” seams are required as in traditional quilting. There is no pre-planning other than choosing your fabrics. Come with a selection of fabrics and a sense of adventure, ready to PLAY and have some FUN! Each student will come away with a unique piece that reflects your individual style and is suitable for a wall hanging. Ideas and guidance on quilting and finishing your piece will be a topic of discussion.

Available spots: 6

Price: $225.00 Taxes waived

Notes: MATERIALS: FABRIC – Bring a collection of at least 15 different cotton fabrics (each piece should be a fat quarter or larger). You may incorporate scraps into this project as well. Choose a mix of values (light, med, dark) and textures (prints, solids, stripes) based on a color scheme, a “focus” fabric, or theme. The more variety you have to choose from, the better. There is some fabric available for you to trade (take a piece, leave a piece) if you find you don’t have what your design requires. Please contact the instructor if you need additional guidance on choosing fabrics or if you require access to more fabrics. Our beautiful new studio is spacious, well-lit, and well-equipped with plenty of table space, an ironing station, a cutting station, basic sewing supplies, and sewing machines. You may use the studio sewing machines and supplies, or bring your own.

Prerequisites: Basic sewing skills required. Ages 18+
