Description:

Skip the flowers this Valentine’s Day and make something that lasts. In this hands-on blacksmithing experience, you and your Valentine will work side by side at the forge, shaping hot steel into a beautiful set of forged steel hearts.

Over this two-part, 2-hour class series, you’ll learn the time-honored craft of blacksmithing—heating, tapering, splitting, twisting, and punching steel—while building both skill and confidence. With guidance from our instructor, you’ll experience the rhythm of the hammer, the heat of the forge, and the satisfaction of transforming raw steel into something meaningful.

Along the way, we’ll cover essential blacksmithing fundamentals including proper hammer technique, anvil use, body stance, forge etiquette and management, safety practices, and a bit of the history behind this centuries-old craft.

By the end of the series, you’ll leave with your finished forged hearts and blacksmithing certification, allowing you to return and use the DIYcave Forge on your own. It’s sparks, sweat, and shared accomplishment—basically the perfect Valentine’s Day date. 🔥❤️

In the event of Weather below 30 degree fahrenheit, class will be rescheduled.

Refunds, Credits & Transfers

We understand that emergencies happen, so if you are unable to attend your class and you cancel with:

• More than 14 (fourteen) days notice before your class, you may request a full refund or transfer the full amount paid to another class.

• Less than 14 (fourteen) days notice before your class, your payment is non refundable. However you may transfer the amount paid, minus a 15% cancellation fee, to any class within 90 days of request. It is not guaranteed that a comparable class will be offered within 90 days.

• Less than 48 (forty eight) hours before your class begins, your payment is non refundable. It is extremely difficult to fill cancelled spaces with short notice.

• After class start date/time: No credits, refunds or prorating of fees will be given for missed portions or early withdrawals.

Changes or Cancellations

DIYcave reserves the right to cancel any class, limit class size, change class times or substitute instructors for those listed in the schedule. If a class is canceled, students may choose to receive a full refund or may transfer – with no fee – to another class or workshop. If DIYcave cancels for any reason, all payments can be refunded.

Required age: Over 16 years old on the day of the activity

Notes: Please arrive for class in closed-toe, closed-heel shoes with socks that protect up to the ankle. Long hair must be tied back. Layers are encouraged as the shop can be very cold or very hot. If you have personal protective equipment such as your own safety goggles, please bring it with you. Otherwise, protective gear will be provided as needed. Prerequisites: No Experience Needed! Two Students Minimum Per Booking Ages 16+ welcome if accompanied by a parent/guardian. Both need to register and pay.
