Description:

Want to learn how to use lapidary tools or get hands-on guidance while working with stone? This lapidary class teaches the full workflow of stone working — from rough material to a finished, polished piece. In a focused learning environment, you’ll learn the standard tools, techniques, and processes used in lapidary so you can work safely, confidently, and effectively in the shop.

Instruction follows a clear progression. You’ll start with material selection and layout, then move through cutting on slab and trim saws, shaping and contouring on cabbing machines, and finally sanding, polishing, and finishing. Along the way, you’ll learn proper tool setup, safe operation, and how to get consistent, high-quality results.

This format is ideal for beginners who want a strong foundation as well as experienced makers who want to formalize their technique and fill in gaps in their skills.

Sessions are booked by the hour with a 2-hour minimum, or can be scheduled as a multi-week series for deeper learning and more advanced projects.

Materials NOT included.
