Description:

This class focuses on finishing copper-foiled stained glass with clean, well-supported framing. Students will complete 2–3 small projects while learning how to frame both geometric and organic designs using commonly used came materials.

Instruction introduces zinc came, lead U-came, and hobby came, with attention to the characteristics of each and how they contribute to both structure and appearance. Students will explore how different framing choices affect the stability and overall presentation of a piece. By the end of the class, participants will leave with finished work and a clearer understanding of how to frame small to medium copper-foiled projects with confidence and consistency

Notes: *Due to the use of lead during soldering, we do not recommend students that are pregnant or breastfeeding take our stained glass classes. Please arrive for class in closed-toe, closed-heel shoes with socks that protect up to the ankle. Long hair must be tied back. Layers are encouraged as the shop can be very cold or very hot. If you have personal protective equipment such as your own safety goggles, please bring it with you. Otherwise, protective gear will be provided as needed. Prerequisites: No Experience Required Ages 14+ welcome if accompanied by a parent/guardian. Both need to register and pay.
