Come and practice your skills with our guidance. Open Lathe at DIYcave provides the perfect opportunity to spend a fun evening honing your skills at the time-honored DIY craft of wood turning. Develop the skills you learned in the Wood Lathe classes you have taken and begin turning wood in true Maker fashion.

Bring your own project ideas and materials or purchase from our inventory of turning blanks and our Lathe instructors will be there to help guide you along. We do not teach a formal curriculum during Open Lathe, however someone will be there if you have any questions or need assistance.

Required age: Over 13 years old on the day of the activity

Notes: Please arrive for class in closed-toe, closed-heel shoes with socks that protect up to the ankle. Long hair must be tied back. Layers are encouraged as the shop can be very cold or very hot. If you have personal protective equipment such as your own safety goggles, please bring it with you. Otherwise, protective gear will be provided as needed. Prerequisites: Prerequisite: You must have taken Intro to Wood Lathe Turning at DIYcave. Ages 13+ may take this class if a parent/guardian is registered and attends the class with them.

Wood Lathe - Wood Lathe Certified (non Powermatic lathes), Wood Lathe - Wood Lathe - Pen Certification
