Description:
Set sail on a fun-filled adventure in this hands-on classroom course designed for young mariners ages 7–9! Over multiple sessions, budding sailors will master essential sailing knots—like the bowline, figure-eight, and cleat hitch—through playful games and step-by-step practice with colorful ropes. At interactive stations, kids will explore navigation basics using simple charts and compasses, discover how wind powers sails with mini wind experiments, and decode the colorful language of signal flags to send secret messages. Each session blends knot-tying challenges with creative nautical crafts, fostering curiosity, and a love for the sea—all in a supportive, land-based setting that prepares little captains for future on-water adventures! The DBMS Van will pick up from Chandler School at 3:25.
