Description:

In Theatre II, participants will engage in a deeper exploration of the skills needed to perform honestly and with conviction on stage. This course will use various theatre exercises, scene work, and improvisation to explore actor warm-ups, character development, script analysis, and performance. 

In a playful environment, with commitment and full engagement, participants will develop and challenge their inner artist, so they can bring their best foot forward as performers – and in their everyday lives. 

The course will end with an open class to share some of what has been learned over the 10 weeks. 

Objectives 

The objectives for this course are: 

· To further develop basic skills of acting: awareness of breath, voice, & movement; trusting one’s impulses; making bold choices; and working as an ensemble. 

· To develop personal techniques in order to perform with honesty and conviction. 

· To engage with the inner artist by instilling confidence and encouraging agency. 

· To develop a respect and rigour for the craft. 

· To have fun.
