This intensive course is designed to introduce you to the art and craft of playwriting and to help you develop your voice as a playwright. Throughout the course, you’ll learn how to build complex and interesting characters, design a compelling plot, write effective dialogue that advances your narrative, free your playwright’s voice and establish your own process.
By the end, you'll have a solid foundation in the fundamentals of playwriting and the competence to write your own original plays. You’ll also have a deeper understanding and appreciation of the art of theater. We’ll work as theater artists do – as a collective, always supporting our fellow playwrights on this exciting adventure.
The course will end with an open class to share some of what has been learned over the 8 weeks. You’ll get to see how you have evolved, where you are now, and where you can still go.
