Description:

In this course, students will engage in close readings of two English novels—Holes and Bridge to Terabithia. Both books feature engaging plots and delve into profound themes such as growth, friendship, perseverance, and facing adversity, making them ideal for reflection and discussion among 5th to 7th graders.

Through these literary works, students will learn how to analyze characters, plot, and themes, enhancing their understanding and appreciation of literature. The course will incorporate group discussions, writing exercises, and creative activities to help students improve their reading comprehension, critical thinking, and expressive skills. After completing each book, students will write a thematic essay to deeply explore key events and characters, further refining their writing and literary analysis abilities.

  1. Holes by Louis Sachar
