Notes: Mykelle Walton is a multidisciplinary performing artist and researcher who strives to combine her intellectual and physical curiosity. In her primary discipline of aerial acrobatics, Mykelle has performed internationally through varieté shows, artistic festivals, and cruise ships in aerial hoop, hair suspension, and aerial straps. Originally from rural Idaho, Mykelle has worked with organizations such as Animate Objects, AIDA Cruises, Virgin Voyages, and the New England Center for Circus Arts. She has been supported by the Idaho Arts Commission, the Alexa Rose Foundation, and the Frequent Flyers Aerial Dance program. After founding the Boise Circus Guild and serving as president and artistic director for five years, she recently graduated from Mount Holyoke College Magna Cum Laude with high honors in philosophy. She lives with her wife and loves to hike in the mountains. Having taught acrobatics since 2006, Mykelle uses her unique vantage point as a dancer, aerialist, and choreographer to find pathways for students of all levels. She prioritizes pleasure over aesthetics, helping students find ways to feel to how their bodies respond to movement.
