Description:
Come stretch and move and melt into your Sunday afternoon! These 45-minute sessions will keep participants (6-16 years old) and their parent/guardian moving in a playful way! A focus will be on creation of a space where everyone knows they are a treasured member of the group and are free to be themselves. We will laugh, we will play, and everyone will have lots of movement-based options provided (including less “high energy” movements such as stretching and yoga).
*Everyone is welcome. This class is most suitable for individuals with access-related needs who are best supported in an environment with quiet music and low lighting (however, there will be some noises throughout each session due to the nature of group-based programming!). To increase choice and decrease pressure, many of the movement options will be facilitated through environmental set-up (as opposed to verbal instructions).
Please note: the building is accessible and there is an accessible washroom onsite (with regular toilet and floor mat only). There is currently no mechanical lift to support with transfers. This class is a physical activity promotion initiative (although the class is led by a physiotherapist, the class is not eligible for coverage through health insurance and specific medical advice will not be able to be provided).
