Introduction to Kayaking is a single class, 2-hour, weekend opportunity to learn about and try a sit-on-top kayak. It’s perfect for a low-key family outing.

Beachside, you’ll be briefed by our experienced paddle team on safety and technique before taking a hands-on supervised test-drive on kayaks. You will explore areas of the cove along with your instructor and will learn how to take advantage of the water currents and wind direction.

After you’ve gotten the hang of it you’ll be ready to confidently enjoy kayaking all summer long at Tod’s Point with rentals by the hour.

Please note: Tod’s Point Sailing School is located in Greenwich Point Park which requires Town issued Beach Passes or Guest Passes for access to the Park. Greenwich residents can apply for Beach Passes at Town Hall and Out of Town Non-Resident Guest Passes can be purchased online on the Town of Greenwich website here.

Notes: Course meets 9:30 AM to 11:30 PM on Saturdays.

Prerequisites: Ability to swim. Adult course participants may bring and use their own USCG approved PFD personal flotation device (i.e., life jacket) each day or may use the school PFD's. We recommend Type III PFDs for program use.
