Geared toward beginners who want to explore basic glass mosaic techniques: This class covers preparation of the substrate, design planning, scoring, cutting, and shaping glass, a variety of tesserae nipping techniques, and grouting for a finished product ready to display. Students will be introduced to a wide variety of mosaic tools and materials and will complete two projects during the class. Project #1, a ceramic mosaic coaster set will introduce the tools and basic skills needed to create a fun and colorful functional creation of your own design. Project #2 will be a seasonal Glass on Glass mosaic picture building on our mosaic skills of cutting, nipping and shaping glass to create a mosaic decor item with the beauty and translucence of stained glass art. A variety of patterns will be supplied. 

All tools, supplies, and safety gear will be provided.
