Description:
Join us for our second historic cemetery tour. Rosehill Cemetery founded in 1859 is an American garden cemetery on the North Side of Chicago and at 350 acres is the largest cemetery in the City of Chicago. According to legend, the name “Rosehill” resulting from a City Clerk’s error - the area was previously called “Roe’s Hill”, named for a nearby farmer Hiram Roe. Like its sister cemetery Graceland, Rosehill is the burial place of many well-known Chicagoans. The cemetery contains many monuments that are notable for their beauty and eccentricity, such as that of Lulu Fellows. Lunch at Fireside Restaurant & Lounge. Trip Includes: transportation by park district bus, tour and lunch. Extensive standing and walking.
