Description:

Deepen your technique and love for the piano this summer!  

Students will be challenged with more complex repertoire and musical concepts, develop their musicianship and instrumental technique, and build knowledge and discipline on their way to becoming a poised musician. Small class sizes will provide a group experience while also allowing for individual attention. 

Your child will learn the following skills: 

• Playing major and minor key signatures and associated scales and arpeggios 
• Mastering complex rhythms 
• Developing sight-reading skills 
• Using pedals 

These intermediate level classes are recommended for students who have studied piano for a minimum of 1 year (at Merit or elsewhere). 

Returning Merit piano students should reference their teacher recommendation when selecting a Continuing Piano class.

Please note: The deadline for summer registration is May 23. Register by this date to ensure your child is enrolled for the start of programming.

Don’t forget your instrument! Every student will need their own keyboard/piano for practicing at home by the first day of class. Check out Merit's Music & Instrument Library to learn about your instrument rental options.
