Description:

If you are caring for an aging parent, you don't have to go it alone.  Join the Mid Island Y JCC and Guiding Hearts Helping Hands for a quarterly series of programs to help you get information and support to navigate your caregiving journey.

5:45 PM - "Whine" and Cheese: We’ll provide the wine and cheese, you bring the “whine!” Enjoy light refreshments while connecting with other Adult Children Caregivers for socialization and support.

6:00 PM - Demystifying Palliative Care: an informative presentation by Lori Hardoon, LCSW and Maria Lever, LCSW of Guiding Hearts Helping Hands.  Palliative care focuses on one thing: improving quality of life. It’s a specialized layer of support for anyone living with a serious illness, as well as the people who care for them. Join us to learn exactly what palliative care offers and get practical advice on how to access and navigate these essential services.

7:00 PM - Cookies and Conversation: debrief and share with other Adult Children Caregivers, while enjoying a bite for the road.
