Description:
JDAIM Book Club - Loving Our Own Bones: Disability Wisdom and the Spiritual Subversiveness of Knowing Ourselves Whole by Julia Watts Belser Please join the Access & Inclusion team for a book club and guided discussion aligning with our Jewish Disability Accessibility & Inclusion Month (JDAIM) theme, Shining with Shlemut: Celebrating Wholeness. Each participant will be able to pick up a copy of the book (included in the fee for this program) from the front desk of the MNjcc in January. We will come together over coffee and pastries on Sunday, February 8 to discuss our experiences reading the book, what resonated, and what this means for disability inclusion in the Jewish community. Please note: This book is 288 pages long and contains some difficult topics, including discussions of ableism. We recommend the book for adults. This group is intended for folks with lived experiences of disability, chronic illness, those who experience accessibility barriers, allies, and caregivers. Have any questions? Email beckyg@mnjcc.org for more details.
