Description:

Mind-Builders' Karate classes are centered on the Goju Ryu Karate practice, and are taught by Master Thomas Bennett, who has been studying and teaching for over 45 years. Bennett, who holds black belt ranks in both the USA and Japan, emphasizes the importance of developing personal and self-discipline while teaching the hard-soft techniques Goju Ryu Karate is known for. Classes are age-appropriate and open to all ranks/levels.

 

What students will learn:

Developing proper breathing techniques and muscle tension

Balanced combat and self-defense techniques (punches, kicks, blocking, and more)

Learning close-range fighting techniques

Defensive focus techniques

Notes: Students should come prepared to take class barefoot and in a Gi (a traditional Karate white uniform). Gi can be ordered on the first day of class for $20. Until Gi arrives, students should wear comfortable black clothing and a pair of clean sneakers.
