Description:

Share the magic of dance with your child as you explore together traditional songs, dances, and rhythms from various cultures of West Africa. Live drumming is featured in every class and contributes to fun and energetic dance exercises perfect for children and adults to move along together. The movements explored in class are energetic, precise, emphasize the torso, rhythmic hand gestures and complex foot patterns.

Students will learn:

To engage the entire body fully

Move different body parts simultaneously to different parts of the rhythm

Grounded movements that maintain a connection to the floor
