Mission Bay Sportcenter hopes that you and your loved ones are well and safe during these unprecedented times.

The Mission Bay Sportcenter Staff dedicates itself to the safety of our students and guests.  We are working diligently towards new safety protocols based on guidelines set in place by Federal, State, and County health officials. There's no doubt that this season's camp is going to have a different look and feel.

While our student's safety has always been the primary goal and our top priority the current COVID-19 situation is requiring us to change our regular format to ensure everyone's safety, the following rules must be followed:

1.       General Measures: Small groups of campers stay together all day, each day. Campers remain at least 6 feet apart and do not share objects. Outdoor activities are prioritized.

2.       Promote Healthy Hygiene Practices

  • Educate staff, campers, and their families about when they should stay home and when they can return to camp. Actively encourage staff and campers who are sick or have recently had close contact with a person with COVID-19 to stay home.
  • Teach and reinforce washing hands, avoiding contact with one’s eyes, nose and mouth, and covering coughs and sneezes among campers and staff.
  • Portable hand sanitizer stations will be installed throughout the facility to minimize movements and congregations.
  • Teach and reinforce the use of cloth face-covering
  • All camp staff will be required to wear cloth face coverings
  • All campers will be required to wear cloth face covering
  • Intensify Cleaning, Disinfection, and Ventilation
  • Staff will clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces at camp to include paddles, life jackets, and boating equipment.
  • Physical guides will be provided, such as tape on floors or sidewalks and signs on walls, to ensure camp staff and campers remain at least 6 feet apart in lines and at other times.

 3.       Implement Distancing

  • We have limited the number of persons in the camp to maintain the adequate physical distancing required.
  •  Our camps have staggered arrival and drop off times and locations as consistently as practicable as to minimize scheduling challenges for families.

4.       Train All Staff and Families

  • Train all camp staff and families in the following safety actions

5.        Enhanced sanitation practices

  • Physical distancing guidelines and their importance
  • Screening practices
  • Proper use, removal, and washing of cloth face coverings

6.       Check for Signs and Symptoms

  • Implement screening procedures for all staff and campers before they enter the facility
  • Ask all individuals about COVID-19 symptoms within the last 24 hours and whether anyone in their home has had COVID-19 symptoms or a positive test.

We greatly appreciate your understanding, adaptability, and patience during this time, and we are looking forward to when we can get together again for fun on the water.

Please note any changes and modifications to original registration for campers must be emailed to: youthcamp@missionbaysportcenter.com. Changes and modifications are not finalized until written notice/confirmation from MBSC Staff.
