The Ste. Agathe Arena has been an integral part of the local and surrounding areas since it first opened in 1978. Additional communities such as Ste. Adolphe, Niverville, Aubigny, Rosenort and many more have all utilized the rink in varying capacities.
The Ste. Agathe Arena is currently in its 45th year of operation but is in need of some major repairs in order to continue to serve the people of Ste. Agathe and neighbouring communities. For many years, various volunteer members of the Board of Directors have proceeded to apply for a variety of grants to sustain and improve operations. While some funding has been received over the years both via grant and donation, in order to ensure continued operations in today’s circumstances, we need to raise approximately $750,000.
The Ste. Agathe Arena ice plant (condenser, chiller, compressors, and pumps) have well exceeded their recommended life span of by nearly 20 years as suggested by local refrigeration experts. Due to the regular maintenance and careful consideration to operate the ice plant under proper environmental considerations, the ice plant has operated well past its expected service life.
