Nepean Kanata Barracudas - Ottawa’s Premier Swim Club! In 1973 the Nepean Swim Club began teaching kids the sport and spirit of swimming. In 1990 the Nepean Swim Club and the Bayshore Barracudas amalgamated to form the Nepean Kanata Barracudas Swim Club, (NKB) - a bigger and more diverse swim club committed to the same core values. Over forty years later we continue to foster excellence in our swimmers both inside and outside the pool! The Junior Barracudas program is our pre-competitive swimming program for children aged 6 to 13 years old.   The Junior Barracudas program focuses on 1) improving competitive stroke technique 2) building body awareness 3) improving swimmer endurance We typically hold 4 sessions per year - fall, winter, spring, and summer. There are currently seven different levels, and all levels swim twice per week.   The levels are not comparable to City programs, so your first step to joining the Junior Barracudas Program is to come in for a no-cost stroke assessment. ​We look forward to meeting you and your swimmer!
