Description
The Ottawa Rowing Club was founded in 1867 and offers a variety of rowing programs on the Ottawa River for new and experienced rowers from age 12 and up. Program offerings include Learn to Row, Adult Rowing League, Senior and Junior rowing, Masters and Recreational rowing, Para-rowing, Summer Rowing Camps, Corporate Team Building and High School rowing. The ORC is also home to the Carleton University Ravens and University of Ottawa Gee Gees novice and varsity rowing teams. The ORC partners with numerous community outreach organizations to extend the sport and reduce barriers for multiple groups. The ORC Boathouse is also a rental venue for special events and meetings. The ORC also hosts a number of special events open to the public including Doors Open Ottawa, free Try Rowing Days and a Canada Day event that offers the best view of Canada's birthday fireworks downtown!
