Description:

Campers will receive instruction in water safety and lifeguard rescues, as well as First Aid and CPR, presented through fun challenges and competitions. At the end of each day, campers will have the opportunity to meet and shadow one of the Park District’s award-winning lifeguard team members. Campers must be Stroke School level or above in Park District Swim Academy or equivalent swimming ability.

Required age: 11 - 14 years old as of 9/1/2025

Notes: CANCELLATION POLICY: In the event that you need to cancel a camp, please contact Customer Service immediately at (708) 725-2000. A $25 cancellation fee will apply to refunds for each session of camp that costs over $150 and a $10 cancellation fee for camps less than $150. Refund requests for camps must be received two weeks before the program begins to be eligible for a refund. Refunds requested within two weeks will be considered only if the vacated spot can be filled with another participant. SWIMMING ABILITY: Campers must pass a rigorous swim test to be allowed to swim in the main tank of Ridgeland Common during Jr. Lifeguard Camp. NO REFUNDS DUE TO WEATHER: In the event of inclement weather in the area, Ridgeland Pool will close for the safety of swimmers. The camp will be held indoors during that time. There are no refunds for inclement weather.
