Description:

Students in this level will work toward the development of the five core swimming competencies using age-appropriate learning activities. Learning is self-paced, but challenging. Students will learn functional swiming by focusing on skills and drills, working with peers, and doing both in and out of water swmming exercises.

The Swim School curriculum into five stages reflecting the five core competencies of functional swimming: Trust and Submersion, Body Position and Air Recovery, Forward Movement and Direction Change, Rotary Movement, and Integrated Movement.

Required age: 6 - 13 years old on the day of the activity

Notes: The Park District understands that schedules change and are happy to accommodate refund requests when possible. If you would like, staff are happy to assist you in transferring your registration to another program, usually for no additional fee. Refunds must be requested 48 hours before a program meets for the second time or no refund will be issued.
