Medieval Machines: Build & Launch Trebuchets and Catapults

Overview: Join us for a hands-on workshop where you'll learn to operate a small trebuchet and build your own popsicle stick catapult! Explore the science behind these medieval siege weapons, construct your own catapult, and test them in fun launch challenges.

What You’ll Do:

• Operate a Trebuchet: Learn the basics of launching with a small trebuchet and experiment with adjustments for distance and accuracy.
• Build a Catapult: Construct a working popsicle stick catapult using simple materials and learn about tension and leverage.
• Launch Challenges: Test your creations in accuracy and distance challenges.

Who Should Attend: Perfect for anyone interested in engineering, history, or creative projects. No experience needed!

Materials Provided: All supplies for building your catapult and operating the trebuchet.

Required age: Over 8 years old on the day of the activity

Notes: No refunds will be issued for this purchase unless Peel Compton Foundation cancels the program due to low participation or weather. 

More information: Be sure to wear closed toe shoes to the range and leave any dangling jewelry at home.
